November 30th was another great night in AMUG history. Microsoft was the main guest and put on a terrific show. The event was catered with cookies and pop and three very knowledgeable presenters. In addition to all of that Wallaby Systems showed off there new portable which is due out at the begging of next year.
Our thanks go out to Kathleen Schoenfelder, Connie Clark, and Susanna Foels for putting on a great presentation. They were all well prepared and showed off why Microsoft continues to be in the forefront of the software industry. We also want to thank Scott Meyer the local Microsoft representative for his assistance through-out the evening.
Our other guest was Ken Wilson who along with his partner introduced us to the alternative to the Apple portable, the Wallaby Portable. The machine was real slick and certainly a bit cheaper in the oldprice tag. I personally look for this product to go far. For those of you who may have an old 512K E you may want to hold on to those ROMS and plug ‘em into the Wallaby.
Although there was a scheduling conflict which had to be resolved a couple of days earlier the annual Christmas meeting went well. We had about 15 tables full of exhibitors showing of various aspects of the Macintosh. Our two biggest guests were Pro Plus Software and next month’s feature speaker Aldus.
There were also numerous giveaways, including an MacSprint II card which was won by Bill Hensler. I’d like to thank Mindscape, Symmetry, Orchid Technology; Greg Geurin, and Howard Johnsons for the donations to our raffle. As I mentioned our guest next month will be Elaine Bullard from Aldus.
She will be showing of Aldus Persuasion and Aldus Freehand. Make your
plans now. We also have a full slate of presenters already scheduled
through the month of April. This should be another great year for
